About Tony Caulfield and his work
Born Tony Kremp on May 6th 1974, in Germany, he assumed
the artist's pseudonym Tony Caulfield in the year 2001.
The older works of art currently displayed in our virtual
exhibition were created by Tony Caulfield between 1997 and 2000,
using a mix of different colors (predominantly acrylic) and various
techniques, and are signed with his civil name.
His newer paintings were created between 2007 and today (mainly acrylic
on canvas); they are signed Tony Caulfield.

The artist derived inspiration from intense life experiences
prior to and during the creation period, including depression and Near Death Experience.
During this period of time, Tony Caulfield (as Tony Kremp) also took a few
semesters of philosophy and English language and literature studies at the Universität
des Saarlandes.
The paintings were presented to the public for the first time through
the exhibitions Nemesifications (1997) and Nemesifications
& more (1998), as well as through numerous virtual galleries - e.g.
on the Saatchi
Gallery website.
A selection of the works was used to illustrate Tony
Caulfield's book Das
Buch des Wahns (The Book of Madness). Tony had started writing this collection
of seven short novels, belonging to the genres of horror/splatterpunk and fantasy,
in 1996. The book was first published in 2005.
In 1999, Tony founded his first company Kirsticon
Enterprises, which was renamed to Art
& Design Company (ADC) in 2006, and received an award and funding from ExTra!
(Existenzgründer-Training), an event by the University
of Kaiserslautern, for the Kirsticon Enterprises business plan.
In 2000 Tony Caulfield (as Tony Kremp) was nominated
for the Rising Movie Talent Award given by AAA (Actors And Arts) and German
TV network Sat.1.
From 2002-2003 Tony Caulfield starred in Realmaker Production's
mystery/action thriller Accept
and Magicland Pictures' horror thriller Slayer.
In 2003, Tony had another leading role in Lee/Leroc's
Evil
Knights, a horror movie with mythical and parody elements that combines a
dark story with action sequences, special effects and loving homages to horror
film legends. In 2005, Tony Caulfield starred as Professor Hoden
Langston in Dogma 2005 Productions' crime/comedy feature Das
Geheimnis der Stählernen Holztür (The Mystery of the Steely Wood Door) and
played the Master of the Circle (Master Narrator) in Lee/Leroc's
horror/comedy feature Unbelievable
Terror. He also did a cameo appearance in Henning Christiansen's Blaupause
(Blueprint).

Since 2004 Tony Caulfield has been co-producing a double-CD
album with English, German and French songs based on the works of poet Arthur
Rimbaud, titled Art
Rimbaud Project. Tony did the vocals for some of the songs, is featured in
a music
video and portrayed and voiced Arthur in a flash-animated Arthur
Rimbaud biography. The album was released in 2006. Tony Caulfield's
further finished projects include the development of the treatment for a feature
film (working title: Elegy For A Clown's Heart), the publishing of various
texts
and numerous projects in the fields of graphic design, web design and advertising
design, as well as translation and localization. In 2007, Tony Caulfield published his second book, a
non-fiction book titled Du
mußt sühnen - Dokumentation eines psychologischen Mordversuchs (You must expiate
- Documentation of a psychological murder attempt). The book is illustrated with
paintings he created in 2006.
In November 2007, Tony Caulfield founded Floracentric
Enterprises, a group of companies currently including Art
& Design Company (ADC),
the art label Tony
Caulfield, Eskapismus.com
